HUGHES/THRALL 2 Coming In Early 2007

According to a posting at, legendary vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE, BLACK SABBATH) and guitarist Pat Thrall are working closely together again and plan on releasing the long-awaited “Hughes/Thrall 2” CD in early 2007. At the moment, it looks like there will be nine songs in total and in late February/early March, Hughes and Thrall will be going into the studio to record seven brand new songs and also to re-record two others (that have seen the light of day before) as part of some demos recorded back in the day that had ended up on bootlegs. A couple of months later, in May, they will finalize and mix the new recordings in Los Angeles, so it will be completed by the summer.

As previously reported, Hughes‘ classic 1982 collaboration with guitarist Pat Thrall, entitled “Hughes/Thrall”, will be reissued later this year. The unique blend of pop and rock is currently being prepared for a May release via the British label Rock Candy Records. The remastered album will contain one or two previously unreleased (but re-recorded) songs as well.

“Hughes Thrall”, acknowledged as one of the finest albums of Hughes‘ career, was released on Boulevard Records in 1982, toppping the U.S. import charts before being issued in the U.K. on Epic in January 1983. More information about the LP can be found at this location.
