ROB ZOMBIE Likes His Music Short, Not So Sweet –

Launch Radio Networks reports: ROB ZOMBIE‘s new single, “Foxy, Foxy” (Windows Media, Real Media), arrived at radio stations this week and shows a slightly more laid-back side to Zombie‘s trademark sound. The tune also gets right to the point, which the singer told Launch is something he’s always interested in doing. “I think if someone sees a two-and-a-half minute song, they’re like, ‘Oh, it’s so nothing,'” he said. “But I find that the greater challenge. To me, it’s always easier to write the longer, rambling song where it takes, like, eight minutes for the chorus to repeat itself or something. Like, when I listen to anything like RAMONES or AC/DC, those are the songs where I go, ‘Wow, so brilliant. Totally made its point in two minutes and got out.’ It’s really hard to do that sometimes.”

Zombie‘s third solo outing, “Educated Horses”, will arrive in stores on March 28. It’s his first set of all-new material since 2001’s “The Sinister Urge”.

Zombie‘s new band consists of longtime bassist Rob “Blasko” Nicholson, drummer Tommy Clufetos and ex-MARILYN MANSON guitarist John 5. The former WHITE ZOMBIE frontman put his recording career on hold while making his 2003 directorial debut, “House Of 1000 Corpses”, and last year’s follow-up, “The Devil’s Rejects”.

Zombie will begin a 33-date North American tour on March 16 in Jacksonville, Florida, with LACUNA COIL and BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE along as support.
