NAMM Show Looks Very Metal This Year
Here’s a list of KNAC.COM bands appearing at this week’s NAMM Convention in Anaheim, California (Thursday through Sunday):
- Anthrax’s Dan Spitz of will sign autographs at the PRS Guitar booth, Saturday 12:30pm – 1:00 pm and Sunday: 2:00pm – 2:30 pm
- Anthrax’s Scott Ian will appear at the Washburn/Randall booth, Saturday Jan 21. 1 PM
- Anthrax’s Charlie Benante at the Tama booth and continue with signings at Paiste and Vic Firth Sunday @12:00 PM
- As I Lay Dying signing at the Carvin booth Saturday 3:00pm – 4:00pm
- Lamb of God’s Chris Adler at Meinl Cymbals Saturday at 2:00pm, Mapex Drums at 3:00pm Sunday, and at Pro-Mark sticks time TBA.
- Lamb of God’s Willie Adler will appear at ESP Guitars Friday from 1:00pm- 2:00 pm
- Seven Witches’ Jack Frost will be signing autographs at the TKL booth (various times)
- Fear Factory’s Christian Olde Wolbers Saturday 11:30 AM at the Tone Pros booth, 1 PM at ISP Subs, and 4 PM at Native Instruments. Sunday 1 PM at EMG pickups, and 3 PM at Krank Amplifiers
- Black Label Society’s Nick Catanese at Washburn Guitars (Various times/dates)
- Prong PRONG will perform Saturday at 9:00 PM at the Hilton Hotel. Also appearing, Brides of Destruction, and To/Die/For among others.
- Killswitch Engage’s Mike D’Antonio will sign autographs at Ibanez Friday (various times)
- Shadow’s Fall signing autographs at Ibanez Friday (Various times)
- Ronnie James Dio signing autographs at Dean Markley Friday from 1:00pm – 3:00pm
- Dave Mustaine Saturday at ESP 12:30 – 1:30pm and at the Seymour Duncan from 2:30 – 3:30pm
- Quiet Riot’s Frankie Banali at the Vic Firth Drumsticks Saturday, at Noon
- Six Feet Under’s Steve Swanson at the KXK Guitars (various times)
- Cradle of Filth’s Adrian Erlandsson will be performing at the Pearl Drums booth on Friday at 4:00pm
- Nevermore’s Steve Smyth at B.C. Rich Sunday at Noon, and at Krank Amplification Sunday at 3:00pm
- Marty Friedman Saturday at 12 noon at Ibanez
- Arch Enemy’s Michael Amott at ESP guitars between 1:00 – 2:30pm on Friday
- Performance featuring Alex Grossi (ex-QUIET RIOT, BEAUTIFUL CREATURES), Jizzy Pearl (RATT, LOVE/HATE), Chuck Wright (ALICE COOPER, HOUSE OF LORDS) and Troy Patrick Farrell (WHITE LION) at Paul Reed Smith Guitars Saturday night NAMM party at the Grove of Anaheim.
Also appearing on the bill will be Al Di Meola, Joe Lynn Turner (RAINBOW, DEEP PURPLE), Dee Snider (TWISTED SISTER), Johnny Hiland, Pat Travers, Steve Bruton, Michael Bolton and Paul Reed Smith - Soulfly’s Marc Rizzo performing electric and acoustic instrumental sets at the Peavey and Digitech booths Saturday and Sunday (various times)
This is just an inititial list. Every year, plenty of artists show up without a press release and jam at various parties. KNAC.COM’s Junkman, Diana DeVille and RJ Stone are at NAMM and will be filing their reports after the convention, and the hangover ends.
