HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA — At the 11th annual Rock City News Awards, Denver Heavy Metal band Moore is awarded “Outstanding American Band Of The Year.” The band is honored to be recognized by such a prestigious
paper, so far from their hometown. With an appearance at Europe’s Popkomm in Berlin, Germany and regular touring from the west coast to the great lakes, Moore is one of the hardest working bands to come out of the Mile High City. With 1.3 million hits to their website (http://www.2moore.com/ ) more touring in the works, 2006 is shaping up to be a banner year for the Denver metal mavens. Moore opened for legends Faster Pussycat on Dec. 10th after playing a free show for the troops at Ft. Carson, Colorado, earlier in the same day, and New Year’s Eve will see the boys opening up for Stephen Pearcy (the former
singer for ’80s legends Ratt) at Grimm Reaper in Denver. This is the second time they will have played with Stephen Pearcy this year as they played with him at the world famous Whisky A Go Go in the spring of 2005.
Moore is currently writing the follow-up to their last album BLEED which garnered rave reviews from around the world. “Moore is the ultimate personification of Rock & Roll…9.5 out of 10!” states Metal Coven in Germany. “11/12” from Germany’s premier metal magazine Heavy. “Genius and new!!!…10/10” raves Obliveon magazine once again from
Germany. And the Headbangers basement in Montreal, Quebec, states “BLEED in a word is unbelievable!” Moore has been featured on Fox 31 news twice, and has headlined virtually everywhere they go. Moore is represented by Lapolt Law in Hollywood, California, and is currently in negotiations for a European deal.

-Liquor And Poker Monthly News Shot
Fireball Ministry on NBC tonight, MTV2 tomorrow
Tonight, acclaimed L.A. hard rock quartet Fireball Ministry will make their national television debut and perform two songs — including current single “Sundown” — on NBC’s “Last Call With Carson Daly.” The hour-long program airs at 1:35 a.m. EST/PST. The video for “Sundown” will premiere on MTV2’s Headbangers Ball the following night. If you can’t wait until then, feel free to see it now on our website,
In other news, the group has also confirmed their first performance of 2006 — an Anaheim Jagermeister Music Tour concert with Disturbed and Bloodsimple. The show adds even more names to Fireball Ministry’s recent touring resume, which includes the likes of H.I.M., Opeth, CKY, Pelican, Skindred, Nevermore, Finch and Judas Priest. The band will
soon return to the road for a week’s worth of dates alongside Clutch; see below for the itinerary.
Liquor And Poker & The Hellacopters: Flying High Again
ROCK & ROLL IS DEAD, the acclaimed new album from Swedish rockers The Hellacopters — whose multiple Grammy awards and Gold records in their home country have helped the quintet build a rabid fan base not only in their native Europe, but around the entire world — will be
released in America on Jan. 24. It marks the third Hellacopters title
in as many years for Liquor And Poker Music; an MP3 of first single
“I’m In The Band” has been posted on the label’s website,
The Hellacopters’ sixth album, ROCK & ROLL IS DEAD was released in Europe in June, at which point the quintet kicked off a six-month continental tour. Highlights included performances at Rock Im Ring/Rock Am Park — Germany’s largest annual music festival — as well as Hungary’s Sziget Festival, a weeklong event with nearly 400,000 attendees. The band’s travels will extend to the rest of the world in 2006, including their first US tour in four years.
Having been described as “the best rock band in Sweden” (Alternative Press) and “the freshest-sounding ‘geetar’ band around” (Rolling Stone), The Hellacopters recently celebrated their 10th anniversary. With six acclaimed studio full-lengths and European tours alongside
household names Kiss, The Rolling Stones and Foo Fighters under their belts, it’s clear the group has come a long way since its early days as a side project of then-Entombed drummer Nicke Andersson and Backyard Babies co-founder Dregen.
Recorded in the Hellacopters’ hometown of Stockholm with longtime producer Chips Kiesbye (Sahara Hotnights, Millencolin), ROCK & ROLL IS DEAD features guest appearances from The Hives’ Howlin’ Pelle Almqvist
and The Soundtrack Of Our Lives’ Mattias Barjed. The North American version of ROCK & ROLL IS DEAD will be an enhanced CD included two bonus tracks not found on any other version of the album, as well as bonus music video clips for both “I’m In The Band” and “Everything’s On T.V.”
Don’t be misled by the title: ROCK & ROLL IS DEAD is living proof that the genre is alive and well – and that as they begin their second decade of international conquests, The Hellacopters will continue to be its heartbeat.

Scott Reeder’s ‘Neverending’ Story
We’ve received so many positive comments about the MP3 for “The Day Of Neverending” from former Kyuss/The Obsessed bassist Scott Reeder’s solo debut TUNNELVISION BRILLIANCE that we thought we’d ask Mr. Reeder
to tell us a bit more about the song (which you can hear on both our website and our MySpace page,
“‘The Day Of Neverending’ came together about a week after my Grandpa Reeder’s funeral,” he says. “He was a Bible-banging minister, trying to convert the world to Christianity. I know my Dad was really tripping out after his death, thinking that he was on deck — the next in line to experience what’s on the other side. And he was so different in so many ways from his Dad, but they had this one thing in common, as with everyone — the universal fascination and wonder of
what it’ll be like when we finally die.”
TUNNELVISION BRILLIANCE will be released on Jan. 24.

-Puppy Mask Gets A New Home
RED BANK, NJ — Long time Skinny Puppy fan, Christopher Clark of Mesa, AZ, is the proud new owner of a one-of-a-kind tour prop (
http://home.comcast.net/~spvmetal/images/SP-MASK.jpg ) worn on stage by Skinny Puppy frontman Ogre. Prior to the release of the band’s DVD THE GREATER WRONG OF THE RIGHT, SPV USA and Revolver magazine sponsored viewing parties across North America. Photos from a few of
the events can be seen in the ‘Party Hard’ section of the January 2006 issue of Revolver which is on stands now. Clark entered the contest by filling out an entry form he received at the Phoenix viewing party. Entrants were asked to tell us in 90 words or less how the band has influenced their lives and how they would give the mask a good home.
All entries were sent to Ogre and co-founder cEvin Key to choose a winner.
“Besides giving great answers to the questions asked, Chris Implanted a Secret Message inside his answers. The Secret Message was: ‘This mask will eat those who unwisely choose.’ He put a lot of time into his response and we thought he deserved it most! Thanks to everyone who sent us an entry card. There were a lot of great ones. It wasn’t an easy decision.” – Ogre / cEvin
“To be honest, I’m surprised that I won over what must have been thousands of hardcore fans, though it was not difficult to gloat about Skinny Puppy,” said Clark. “cEvin and Ogre will always have a special dark hole buried in my heart, along with a splendiferous new Halloween mask! At first I was skeptical as to whether or not my strategy would
work, but it seems that the ominous threat of becoming a bloody snack did the trick. Mwahaha! Best Christmas present ever!”
After a ten year hiatus Skinny Puppy reunited on stage at the 2000 Doomsday festival. The reunion ignited a creative spark in both artists to once again create new music together as Skinny Puppy. Soon after signing with SPV / Synthetic Symphony the band released THE GREATER WRONG OF THE RIGHT. 2004 saw the band touring extensively in support of the new album On the second leg of the incredibly
successful North American tour, two live shows in Montreal and Toronto would be recorded for their first ever DVD, THE GREATER WRONG OF THE RIGHT LIVE released earlier this year. The band are currently busy writing and are expecting to release a new studio album in 2006.

-Town Hall Steps In The Right Direction
Australian World Battle Of The Band finalists Town Hall Steps have returned home after battling it out with six other acts in the event’s final showdown in Hong Kong.
After taking honours at the Australian final at The Marquee in Sydney in November, the power-pop five piece ripped through their set in front of a p cked audience at the New Era New – World Centre at Kowloon in Hong Kong.
While the Aussies showed plenty of promise, delighting the mostly Hong Kong audience with their dynamic live act and eclectic mix of tunes, it was Hong Kong favourites Qiu Hong, that eventually took out the World Final. Better for the experience, Town Hall Steps then jumped on a plane and promptly returned to Australia to support a national tour
with US popster Hillary Duff.
“The 2005 World Final in Hong Kong was a special night, and those who couldn’t be there, missed one of the coolest live gigs of 2005,” says organiser Andrew Featherstone.
“The Mostly Hong Kong audience was treated to a magical night of new, exciting band from six countries.”
Local band Qiu Hong impressed the international panel of judges and the audience alike, while Kiwi three-piece The Twitch placed second, winning over the Hong Kong punters in the process.
Singapore-based, The Ocean Road, was third with L.A. Rockers, Something To Burn, fourth, Filipinos Sunflower Camp fifth and Town Hall Steps sixth.
World Battle Of The Bands finalists were flown to Hong Kong for the grand finale and will feature two tracks each on the first WBOB compilation album to be released in 2006.
Winners Qiu Hong will record a single at A Room Productions in Hong Kong, to be mixed at Area 51 in New Zealand by top engineer Mark Pavletich and mastered in Sydney at Studio 301 by mastering master Don Bartley.

*** PRESS RELEASE #8 ***
Even if some of you might be aware, we think it’s important to let everyone know about what’s been going on with Ethereal.
First of all, something completely unexpected occurred, or in other words, our rehearsal place has been sacked. We were perplexed when we saw that our entire material was missing, as well as the level of destruction of the whole space. As if wasn’t enough to take instruments, amplifiers, speakers and additional material, they also destroyed furniture, electric appliances, and even walls. The level of devastation that was left behind — not only in the room but also in us — was so great, that we can hardly manage to find fitting words to
describe the whole thing. Regardless, we’re currently rectifying this situation (which is extremely painful, as you can tell) and we hope to inform you about other news soon.
But tackling another issue here, we’re finally able to inform you about the definitive release date for TOWERS OF ISOLATION, which is the 13th of January of 2006. Strangely enough, the weekday is, no more no less, than a Friday… we think that looking back to what has happened lately, we couldn’t have had a more appropriate day for it
(as you can well agree). This will also be the first Ethereal album in digipack format, of which the layout and graphic design were again handled by Phobos Anomaly. We think you’ll be pleasantly surprised with the Ethereal sound on this work; not only for the musical component — which features a major leap in terms of composition and arrangements — but also for the technical aspect — it is undoubtedly true that all the hours spent on MB studios pay off (and a lot).
Notwithstanding these recent events — as well as some disappointments we had along the way — we’re confident that this new year will mark a turning point for Ethereal: not only on the musical aspect, but also on the personal side (in view of the fact that both are intertwined).
The dream lives on…
We also wish you a Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year 2006.

-Black Lotus Records – New Signings
Black Lotus Records is proud to announce the signing of Mark Zonder’s new band TempleWithin. After departing from Fates Warning, along with the talents of Wayne Findlay (MSG) and Gregory Analla (Seventh Sign and Tribe Of Gypsies) the legendary drummer of Warlord has formed a
brilliant modern heavy rock act. “I am very proud of my work for the past 14 years with Fates Warning…” Mark said in a recent interview, and continues: “however, this is something very different, the new TempleWithin album will speak for itself and have its own identity.”
Indeed, the demo tracks reveal a powerful band of strong musicianship with tasteful melodic songs. We just can’t wait to listen to the final outcome! The album (untitled still) is currently in the works with Joe Marlett (Bruce Dickinson, Korn, Steve Vai, Revolver, Brian May and others), taking care of the engineering and the final mix. A release
date is set for May 2006.
The first band in Finland to be called as a DOOM act is Spiritus Mortis. Formed in late summer of 1987 their unique sound can be heard from the very early demos: growling bass, massive guitars and viciously thundering drums. Cult following was gained by reviews of demos and furious gigs… Their self-titled debut album was released in January 2004 on the now defunct Rage Of Achilles label and fell like a dark day with icy rain onto the doom metal community…
Now Spiritus Mortis have joined the ranks of Black Lotus and their second offering entitled FALLEN will doom this world in February 2006. Vocalist Vesa Lampi comments: “After 18 years of existence Spiritus Mortis is still alive and kicking. Charging like a herd of overweight rhinos. And now filled up with Ouzo! We are really looking forward to this co-operation with BLR, so let’s spread some SM disease!”
Thundra was formed as a project of Harald (ex-Enslaved), Stein (ex-Einherjer) and Nils (synth) in 1998. Their first album BLOOD OF YOUR SOUL was released in 2001 on Spinefarm Records to a general applause. After leaving Spinefarm and a 3-track demo the band start working really hard on a new album. The result is WORSHIPED BY CHAOS,
a work totally different than the debut, much darker, more complex, more extreme with a killer sound courtesy of their own Black Dimension Studio. Thundra have just inked a deal with Black Lotus Records for the worldwide release of this killer masterpiece set for February 2006. Expect a high quality extreme album from Norway’s best-hidden secret!
*** PRESS RELEASE #10 ***
Shadowside has just released on November 30, on Seven Music/Universal Music, their debut album titled THEATRE OF SHADOWS. The material recorded at LCM Studio in São Paulo was produced by Fábio Haddad and mixed by Santiago Ferraz (mixed Paul McCartney and Silverchair DVDs,
besides winning the Latin Grammy awards twice as the producer for Milton Nascimento and Tom Jobim). The mastering took place at the Jailhouse Studios in Denmark and was done by Tommy Hansen (Helloween, Pretty Maids, Jorn Lande, TNT, Beyond Twilight).
“… I have no doubts this is a different band with a front leader above average, she’s one of a kind! Something that happens from 50 to 50 years, that’s way above Seven Music, me or you. Something above our mediocre lives,” said Seven Music president, Gil Cardoso. “… I expect the world to surrender! I expect everyone to fall on their knees and worship the Heavy Metal goddess.”
Furthermore, samples from the new album are available on the official website, which soon will feature a layout completely based on the new album artwork.
As of it right now, the band formed by Dani Nolden (V/K), Bill Shadow (G), Ricky Slater (G), Lucas De Santis (B) and Fabio Buitvidas (D) is scheduling the first dates for the Dancing in the Shadows Tour.

-Dave Pybus From Cradle Of Filth On Angtoria Debut
More guest appearances on Angtoria’s debut album GOD HAS A PLAN FOR US ALL have just been made official and below is the official statement issued by Sarah regarding this matter:
“With a few technical hitches but things running to plan, we have finally recorded the bass! My search for a bassist wasn’t hard, I had two in mind, equally as talented and equally as amazing! Ryan Sinn from The Distillers & Dave Pybus from Cradle of Filth/Six Six Six Records.
“Due to budget & time, Dave did the dirty job. It made sense because he doesn’t live far from me. Personally it’s a shame we couldn’t have had two bass players! The tracks were recorded in Springvale Recording Studios by Mark Harwood, who is famous for various Cradle Of Filth work & Extreme Noise Terror, amongst others.
“Finally, a dream come true for me! A song with Aaron from My Dying Bride. I’ve waited years to sing with his immaculate voice! It’s at last happened. No title for the track as of yet but the lyrics have been written by the both of us.”
All information regarding the recording and the progress can be found in the official Studio Report section of the Official Website,
